Lyla Lorraine was born on September 5, 1931, to Henry and Henrietta (Rasmussen) Leuze in Willmar, Minnesota. She grew up on the farm with her two sisters and brother. Always finding something creative to do, Lyla and her sister, Betty started a waterfowl hatchery raising domesticated ducks and geese. She attended country school near Raymond, Minnesota. She met the love of her life at the Lakeside Ballroom in Glenwood at a dance. Lyla married Donald Rosenberg on June 15, 1967. The couple moved to the Rosenberg family farm where they raised their two sons and milked cows. After Donald had a traumatic farm accident in 1971, Lyla took over most of the responsibilities running the farmstead. The couple retired from the farm and moved to Alexandria in 1989. Lyla enjoyed scenic drives with her husband, trips to Dairy Queen, her many animals on the farm, and above all spending time with her grandchildren and family. In 2012 she moved to Knute Nelson Care Center where she made many friends and staff that loved her.
Lyla is proceeded in the death by her husband, Donald; son, David; brother, Ervin “Buddy” Leuze; and sister, Marian Koch.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan (Jackie) Rosenberg of Alexandria; daughter-in-law, Heather; sister, Betty (Gerald) Ruter of Willmar; grandchildren, Blake, Andrew, and Alex Rosenberg; step-grandchildren, Cody Smith, Jennifer Hanes, Dustin Tarnasky, Katie (Adam) Wolter, and Alison Tarnasky; great-granchildren, Aurora, Nova and Kayla; and many nieces and nephews
