Daniel Lee Knutson

Daniel Lee Knutson, age 70, of Alexandria died on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Knute Nelson Care Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 8, 2024, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria.  Interment will take place at Kinkead Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Lind Family Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service.

Daniel Lee was born on May 6, 1953, to Clarence and Jesse (Hall) Knutson in Roseau, Minnesota. He grew up in Roseau where he attended public school and graduated from Roseau High School. Following his education, Daniel worked as a mechanic, tow truck driver, and as a driver in trucking for most of his life. He was an avid car and junk enthusiast. Daniel enjoyed fishing with his family and friends, especially with his friend, Bill Wadd whom he helped with his dad in their Bio Corporation, which provided specimens to many school science classes throughout the country.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Keith, Rodney, and Wayne; and sister, Janice.

Daniel is survived by his son, Steve Gadbaw of Starbuck; daughters, Robyn (Brian) Wynstra of Texas, Renee (Tony) Suchy of Vining, and Bonnie (Travis) Matrious of Shoreview; brother, Jeff (Sherri) Knutson of Thief River Falls; eight grandchildren, Samantha Kubitz, Brittney Suchy, Kenzie Suchy, Andrew Suchy, Daniel Gadbaw, Makayla Wynstra, Hanna Wynstra, and Christine Jo Gadbaw; four greatgrandchildren, Hunter Lee Gadbaw, Theodore Wynstra, Izabel Oliver, and Oakley Danielle Rae Wynstra; along with many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Jeff Knutson, Steve Gadbaw, Brian Wynstra, Tony Suchy, Andrew Suchy, and Daniel Lee Gadbaw.  Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Greenberg, Ernie Kolle, and Bill Wadd.
