Michael "Mike" Forkrud

Michael “Mike” Allen Forkrud, age 61, of Starbuck died on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center – East Bank in Minneapolis.

A celebration of life will begin at 3 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Off Center Tavern (formerly Keggers Bar & Grill) in Clara City. A private family service will be held.

Mike was born on April 30, 1960, to Norman and Mavis (Martinson) Forkrud in Granite Falls. He was baptized at Opdal Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. Mike attended Clara City Public Schools and graduated from high school in 1978. He attended Willmar Technical College and earned a degree in business agriculture. Mike was a lifelong farmer and had a passion for the land. He had a wide circle of friends and wherever he went, he knew someone and always had time for a lively conversation and a lot of laughs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norman; grandparents; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mike is survived by his partner, Connie Bode of Starbuck; mother, Mavis Forkrud of Alexandria; and two sisters, Rhonda Forkrud of Miltona and Shelly Forkrud of Golden Valley.
