Maureen was born on August 26, 1938, to John and Estelle (Duprey) Boyce in Norwalk, Connecticut. The family moved to Hudson, Massachusetts in 1945. She graduated from Hudson High School and was one of four speakers at graduation. She matriculated at the State Teachers College in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1956, and graduated in 1960, with a B.S. in Music Education. Maureen completed a master’s degree in music in 1970, at Texas A & I University. Following graduation, she taught several subjects in school systems in New York State, Minnesota, Alaska, Texas, and Maryland while accompanying her husband in his career travels.
In 1984, she retired from teaching children and began selling real estate which lead to the job she enjoyed most in her life, managing a real estate office that eventually grew to have over 150 agents and 17 staff members. In 2009, she retired from the real estate profession and became an owner of Parkers Prairie Floral and Greenhouse where she worked for ten years before finally retiring from the business world. Maureen described all of her careers as “herding cats.” Her later years were spent enjoying the hospitality and kindness of local friends and relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ronald in 2017.
Maureen is survived by her brother, Edward Boyce of Stuart, Florida; niece, Kiersten Boyce Green of Redland, California; two nephews, David Boyce of Groton, Massachusetts and Jonathan Hopka of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; two great-nieces, three great-nephews, and a host of friends.
