Lyle Keller

Lyle N. Keller, age 87, of Alexandria passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Bethany on the Lake in Alexandria.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria with Fr. Steven Binsfield officiating. Inurnment will be at Geneva Cemetery in Alexandria.

Visitation will be held from 8:30-10:30 a.m., Saturday morning prior to the service at the church.

Lyle Nicholas Keller was born on November 28, 1931, to John and Sylvia (Christianson) Keller on the family farm in Tenney, Minnesota. He attended country school through the 8th grade and continued farming with his family afterwards. Lyle was married and started his family in Wendell, Minnesota where he also farmed. He later moved to Alexandria where he sold cars, farm equipment, and drove school bus for Alexandria Public Schools. Lyle was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Wheaton school board, and State PTA Board. He was a competitive Whist player and will be remembered for his personality and ability to talk to anyone about anything.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Melvin and Dennis.

Lyle is survived by his five children Karen (Richard) Johnson of Willmar, Allan (Helen Ward-McPherson) Keller of Fergus Falls, Diane (Doug) Wolden of Fergus Falls, Jeffrey (Margaret) Keller of Monticello, and Scott (Patty) Keller of Savage; brothers, Ralph (Maureen) Keller and Sidney (Paulette) Keller; sisters, Evelyn Stauder and Eileen (John) Keller-Bailey; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
