Joni Norris

Joni L. Norris, age 32, of Brainerd, died on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Essentia Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 21, 2020, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria with Pastor Rachel Stout officiating. Joni's service will be live streamed right here on her obituary page starting at 11 a.m., Friday.  It was also be broadcast from the funeral home parking lot on 105.3 FM.  Interment is at Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

Joni Lynn Norris was born on September 18,1987, to Larry and Sharon (Engstrom) Norris in Alexandria.  Joni graduated from Bertha/Hewitt High School in 2006.  She graduated from Central Lakes College from Brainerd in 2008. Some of Joni’s employment over the years have been Cragun’s Resort and Grand Casino in Mille Lacs doing housekeeping. Her last employment was as a dietary assistant at a nursing home.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jim and Harriet Engstrom; paternal grandparents, John and Shirley Norris; sister, Tina Deschene; aunts, Carolyn, Kathy and Diane; uncle, Ricky; and extended family.

Joni is survived by her brother, Curtis (Jenny) Deschene; three nieces, Caitlyn Deschene, Valerie Deschene, and Jadyn Deschene; foster parents, Gary and Glenda Kuhn of Bertha; foster sister, Wynter Lewis;  mother, Sharon Norris; father, Larry Norris; siblings, Joseph, Colleen, Larry, Jr., and Stephanie; two nieces; relative, Wilma Larson; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Urn bearers are Curtis, Jenny, Valerie, and Jadyn Deschene. Honorary urn bearers are Caitlyn Deschene and Wynter Lewis.
