JoAnn "Jo" Eisel

JoAnn “Jo” Eisel, age 63, of Leaf Valley, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, under the loving care of her husband, Matt Eisel and Hospice of Douglas County after a courageous battle with cancer.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley with Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Music is provided by organist, Kristi Wussow. Interment will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Friday, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

JoAnn Ruth was born on December 17, 1956, to Eugene and Ruth (Diedrich) Krohnfeldt in Alexandria. She was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley. She grew up a deep rooted farm girl. Jo graduated from Jefferson Senior High School Class of 1974. Following her education, she worked at Olson’s Supermarket (Red Owl) until 1978. She was united in marriage to Matt Eisel on October 18, 1975, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Once married, she was a professional stay at home mom to her three daughters, a 4-H Leader, and a life-long member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years. Jo enjoyed many hobbies including playing softball, gardening, sewing, crafts, cooking, baking, spending time with her grandchildren, and her numerous talents that touched everyone around her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Krohnfeldt.

Jo is survived by her husband of 45 years, Matt; three daughters, Stephanie (Brady) Johanneck of Spicer, Brandee (Justin) Lammle of out of state, and Whitney (Mark) Ziegelmann of Alexandria; mother, Ruth Krohnfeldt of Parkers Prairie; six grandchildren, Stephanie’s son, Adam Miller, Ava and Henlee Ziegelmann, and Bryson, Madie, and Mason Lammle; three brothers, Gary Krohnfeldt, Gaylord Krohnfeldt, and Bradley Krohnfeldt; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Pallbearers are Connie Krohnfeldt, Jackie Ekdahl, Norma Kloehn, Nora Wilke, Patty Eisel, and Pauline Weisel.
