Ella M. Patrick, age 101, of Miltona, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2020, at Knute Nelson Care Center in Alexandria.

A drive-through visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2020, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service, honoring social distancing.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria with Fr. Dave Petron officiating for immediate family only.  The service will be live-streamed on Ella’s obituary page on the funeral home website.  The service will also be broadcast for those in attendance in the funeral home parking lot by tuning into 105.3 FM.

A graveside service will be held immediately following the service at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery in Belle River.

Ella Mathilda was born on May 30, 1918, to Tore and Antonia (Ziebell) Myren at home on the farm in Miltona Township, Minnesota.  She attended country School District 55 in Miltona and completed school through the 8th grade.  Following her education she worked as a housekeeper and nanny for many families in neighboring towns and farms.  She married LeRoy Nicholas Patrick on a very warm July 12, 1938, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria.  After their marriage, the couple lived on several farmsteads and raised their four children on the farm in Hudson Township.  LeRoy became a resident of Knute Nelson Home in 1981, and passed away May 11, 1998. In the summer of 1982, Ella moved to her home in Miltona, where she resided independently until October 2017, when she became a resident of Knute Nelson Care Center. She was well-known for her sponge cakes made to celebrate many birthdays and special occasions of friends and family.  Above all, Ella enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was a former member and organist at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Villard, and a current member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Virgil Patrick; daughter, Mary Brezina; infant grandson, Christopher Brezina; grandson, Scott Patrick; brothers, Wilhelm, Otto, and Walter Myren; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Ella is survived by her children, Ann (Ben) Zavadil of Alexandria, Gerald (Kathryn) Patrick of Alexandria, and John (Patricia) Patrick of Alexandria; brother, Ted (Barb) Myren of Burnsville; sister-in-law, Shirley Myren of Miltona; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren.

Servings as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
