Clifford “Cliff” D. Perry, age 98, of Miltona, died on Friday, July 31, 2020, at his home in Miltona.

A private family memorial service will be held. Interment is at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Alexandria.

Clifford Darwin was born on September 15, 1921, to Earl and Agnes (Hall) Perry in Verndale. He attended school through the eighth grade. Cliff moved around and held various jobs throughout his life. While living in Montana he worked for a lumberyard. He transitioned to California where he played the accordion in a band, most notably playing with the Hank Williams. He was united in marriage to Leona Tiggis on August 15, 1955, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria. They were together for just short of 50 years and were blessed with two children. Together they settled on a dairy farm South of Alexandria and Cliff hauled milk for Land-O-Lakes until 1968. They then moved into town where he began delivering papers for the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Cliff retired at the age of 83. Leona died on April 1, 2005. Cliff later met Mary Hoppe and they were united in marriage on July 19, 2006, in Alexandria. Together they made their home in Miltona, where they have enjoyed the past 14 years. Cliff enjoyed watching All-Star Wrestling and Western Films. He also loved animals and painting by numbers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leona; and brothers, Harold, Denzel, and Norbert.

Cliff is survived by his wife of 14 years, Mary; daughter, Mavis (Greg) Coudron of O’Fallon, Missouri; son, Ted (Cheryl) Perry of Raymond; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Becky Hoppe of Long Prairie and Bonnie Thompson of Parkers Prairie; seven step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Honorary urnbearers are T.J. Perry, Ben Perry, Jackson Coudron, and Heather Koeppen.
