Yvonne Marie (Forster) Hanson, age 87, of Parker Prairie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Saint Williams Living Center in Parkers Prairie, under the care of Hospice.
A celebration of life for Yvonne “Vonnie” and her husband C. John “Johnny” who passed away on February 8, 2026, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Fahlun Lutheran Church, rural Nelson. Interment will be held at the St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery in Belle River.

Yvonne Marie (Forster) Hanson was born on July 3, 1938, in Foley. She was adopted by Frank and Frances Forster of rural Belle River. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Nicholas Church, Belle River. Yvonne attended country school in Belle River, and High School in Alexandria.
Yvonne (Vonnie) was united in marriage to C. John (Johnny) Hanson on September 4th, 1956, in Iowa. Their early years were spent in the Twin Cities, Belle River, Albert Lea, Osakis, and rural Nelson. In 1970, they found and purchased their family farm just outside Parker Prairie, raising all eight of their children and retiring there.
In addition to her role as a mother, homemaker, caregiver to her parents, and being Johnny’s right hand on the farm; Vonnie frequently worked outside the home, most notably; as a CNA for Bethany Nursing Home, Alexandria, a school bus driver for Miltona and the surrounding area, providing a home for multiple foster children, and finally as a care provider for Saint William Living Center from 2013 to 2025. She would say her favorite job was during the 90s as she ferried music lovers from the campgrounds to the stadium bowl and back with her tractor and hay wagon at WE-FEST.
Vonnie had many interests over the years; raising honeybees, baking, gardening, canning, cooking, cake decorating, playing cards, scrabble, and domino’s along with horseback riding, riding a dirt bike, fishing, camping and all that that entails. Her family was always her greatest treasure, and many happy times were spent both at the farm and camping with her children and grandchildren. In later years, Vonnie, particularly loved spending her winters in the Arizona desert near Quartzite.
Vonnie is united in death with her parents; husband, John; son, Timothy; brothers, Douglas “Bud” Forster and Steve Stockinger; sister-in-law Lola Forster; and brother-in-law Gerald Sather
Yvonne is survived by her seven children, Gerald (Cindy) Hanson of Albertville, Renee (Rick) Drellack of McIntosh, Neil (Mario Molina) Palm Springs, California, Irmadene (Wayne Freimuth) Hanson, John “Jack” (Tiffanie Tesch) Hanson, Noland (Deanna Bristlin-Wangerin) Hanson all of Parkers Prairie, and Emajean (Jon) Ford of Evansville; brother-in-law, Richard (Sherilyn) Hanson of Bloomington; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Sather of Nelson, and Deb (Cliff) Teusch of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; two sisters, Joyce Lytner of Gilman and Sherry (Dick) Baynes of St. Cloud; daughter-in-law Lola of Parkers Prairie; 17 grandchildren; many greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
