Wayne M. Pitcher, age 97, of Alexandria, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Bethany Community Home in Alexandria.
Burial is at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Wayne Merle Pitcher was born December 23, 1917, to Clarence and Lillian (Hornke) Pitcher in St. James, Minnesota where he attended school. Following his education, Wayne worked on the family farm. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in World War II. Wayne was united in marriage to Alice Torgeson in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He was career military and following his honorable discharge in 1968, moved to Alexandria. He worked at ALP for 25 years until his retirement. Wayne enjoyed living in the lakes area, especially fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife.
Wayne is survived by his two daughters, Susan (Scott) Eustice of Alexandria and Nancy Henderson of Denver, Colorado; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
