Wallace “Wally” V. Schlosser, age 77, of Nelson, died suddenly on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Alomere Health in Alexandria.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2026, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River with Fr. Dan Ruprecht officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the Minnesota Honor Guard and the Veteran’s Memorial Honor Guard. Interment will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls at a later date.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Sunday, August 16th, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Wallace Vincent was born on July 30, 1949, to Vincent and Gladys (Spieker) Schlosser in Alexandria. He was raised on the family farm in Belle River alongside his siblings and many neighboring cousins. He graduated from Jefferson High School and shortly thereafter was drafted into the United States Army. He served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1971. When he returned home, Wally worked for R & R Ready Mix and on the family farm. He met his future wife, Karen Larson, one evening at Diamond Point in Sauk Centre. They were united in marriage on June 2, 1973, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River. Together, they purchased Wally’s grandparents’ farm and began building their home, starting with the basement and adding on as their family grew. In 1979, Wally began driving for Muyres Trucking in Carlos and later transitioned to Wedum Supply in Alexandria, now known as Dakota Supply Group, where he worked for 25 years. Following retirement, he worked part-time for Rasmussen Trucking and continued working as recently as this past spring. Even while working full-time, Wally continued farming the land his family had worked for generations. Wally was proud to coach the Carlos Cougars baseball team for several years and also spent many years umpiring in the Resorters League. While farming was his passion, Wally especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved watching his grandchildren participate in 4-H and rodeo and proudly stood ringside as they showed their livestock and competed in rodeo events. He also enjoyed deer hunting and driving around the farm in his side-by-side or tractor. Wally was a lifetime member of the VFW and St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Above all, he was proud of his family and the legacy he and Karen built together and would leave for generations to come.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Jaci Schlosser; and siblings, Kay Schlosser and Dale Schlosser.

Wally is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen; children, Christy (Chad) Cronquist of Carlos, Justin Schlosser of Miltona, and Cindy (Paul) Pulak of Harding; siblings, Gregory (Susan) Schlosser, Margaret (Dan) Senn, Ralph Schlosser, and Tony Schlosser; 7 grandchildren, Logan and Ellie Conquist, Connor (Heather) Sather, Camryn, Colby, and Cora Schlosser, and Parker Pulak; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Tucker Sather, and Bowen Gesell; brother-in-law, Ronald Larson; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Serving as urn bearers will be Wally’s grandchildren and serving as honorary bearers will be Doug Vickerman, Leonard Hintzen, Derald Spieker, Kenny Olson, Mike Messer, and Wally’s great-grandchildren.
