Violet Hattie Miller was born July 4, 1920, to Carl and Anna (Dittberner) Diedrich in rural Parkers Prairie. She attended Country School District #53 near Miltona. When her family stopped growing, there were three sets of twins and seven single births. She herself was a twin with her sister, Viola. In this large German family a strong work ethic and a deep Christian faith enabled them to survive the difficult economic times. Violet was united in marriage to Harry A. Miller on June 1, 1948. Following their marriage they spent much time together, painting buildings, gardening and harvesting potatoes. She enjoyed embroidering, crocheting and bead crafts until the time of her death. Her husband, Harry died in 1995. Violet remained living in her home until July 5, 2011, when she moved to assisted living at Peaceful Bliss in Alexandria.

Violet is survived by three sisters, her twin, Viola Bonik of Bagley, Cora Eastlund of Hastings and Alvina Hoiland of Bagley; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant sibling; husband; five sisters, Freida Fritz, Laura Diedrich, Ella Hicken, Ester Zinter and Delpha Miller; and three brothers, Robert Diedrich, Edwin Diedrich and Walter Diedrich.

Pallbearers are Kenneth Henning, Marvin Schauland, Harold Diedrich, Gilbert Grothen, and Chuck Joachim. Honorary pallbearers are Marvin Hertwig, Virginia Henning, Sandy Rud, Ella Patrick, Anita Hintzen, Joan Norman, Linda Andert and Phyllis Tucker.
