Victoria Dorn

Victoria J. Dorn, age 99, of Urbank, went safely home to heaven on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at the Battle Lake Home, with her daughter Patty by her side.

Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m., Monday, July 31, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank with Fr. Peter VanderWeyst and Fr. Herb Gappa officiating. Music is provided by organist, Cassandra Kowalksi and the church choir. Burial is at the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Sunday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with parish prayers at 7 p.m., and the rosary to follow by the Christian Mothers. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Victoria Josephine Klimek was born on September 30, 1917, to Dominick and Josephine (Klimek) Klimek in Leaf Mountain Township. She grew up working on the farm and continued school through the eighth grade. Victoria married Arthur J. Dorn on January 31, 1940, at the St Cloud Cathedral. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in Leaf Mountain Township where they raised their family. In 1969, they moved to Effington Township. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Christian Mothers. Her hobbies included farming, gardening, picnics, crafts, quilting, embroidery, baking, and cooking. Farewell to our mother as we mourn her passing but are grateful for the time we had with her.  She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur J. on October 21, 1980; son-in-law, Matthias Roers; brothers, sister, and in-laws, Steven Klimek, Barbara (Harry) Dorn, Mathias (Sophia & Louise) Klimek, Leo (Helen) Klimek, Edward Klimek, Bernard Klimek, Joseph (Dorothy) Klimek, and Victor (Evangeline) Klimek; granddaughter, Annie Dorn; and two great-grandchildren, Nyla Dorn and Michael Frank.

Victoria is survived by her children, Gertrude Roers of Brooklyn Park, Frances (Wilbert) Suchy of Vining, Patricia (Kenneth) Bushman of New Munich, and Arthur (Donna) Dorn of Vining; 23 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren, and many relatives.

Pallbearers are her ten grandsons, Merlin, Marty and Maurice Roers, Bill, Dale and Glen Suchy, John and Joe Bushman, and Alan and Darin Dorn. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters, Maureen Frank, Monica Roers, Michelle Roers, Cheryl Morton, Joanne Swanson, Lynnette Pray, Joy Greenwaldt, Tammie Sweere, Kristi Cochran, Donna Kay Schnitzler, Debra Burgess, Amy Kortenbusch, and Amanda Marks.
