Victor Edenloff, age 85 of Parkers Prairie passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the Knute-Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria, MN.
Victor Junior Edenloff was born on April 1, 1924 in Osakis, MN to Alvin and Mayme (Thornquist) Edenloff. He graduated with the class of 1942 from Osakis High School and then went to serve his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He returned after his honorable discharge and continued his schooling at St. Cloud State College where he received his business degree. Victor married Lynn Johnson on January 5, 1957 at the Osakis Lutheran Church. Victor first worked in banks in Carlos and Alexandria before moving to work as a banker at the First National Bank in Parkers Prairie for over twenty years, retiring in 1983.
Victor belonged to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in PP and served on both the church and cemetery boards. He was a member of the American Legion and the PP Lions. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was custodian for the PP Senior Center. During his youth Vic was a standout baseball player who pitched for the Carlos OTW League and then served as manager of the Alexandria Clippers. He was a lifelong sports fan who faithfully cheered on the Twins and the Vikings teams. In addition to being an excellent bowler, he also enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.
Victor is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lynn of Parkers Prairie; children, Lee (Loray) of Alexandria, Al (Celeste) of Alexandria, Vicki Edenloff of Fargo, ND; 3 grandchildren, Katelyn & Carly Edenloff, Brandon Beliveau; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Everett and LeRoy Edenloff and a sister, Marcy Hall.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 2 pm at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Jonathan Sorum officiating. Musicians were Tara Bitzan and Dean Swanson. Interment was at the Parkers Prairie Cemetery with honorary pallbearers Merle & Duane Hall, Jason & Rachel Johnson, Wendy Reed and Blaine Stoeckel. Active bearers were Rob, Brent, Micah and Chris Stoeckel, Dan & Scott Edenloff.
Arrangements were with the Lind Family Funeral Service of Parkers Prairie, MN.
