Terry “TC” R. Cox, age 66, of Grove Lake, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria. Music is provided by pianist, Randy Morken and vocalist, Brian Chilan.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Monday, July 22, 2024, at Lind Family Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service.
Terence Robert was born on August 5, 1957, to Marion and Avis (Murphy) Cox in Fort Scott, Kansas. His family moved to Iowa, Texas, Missouri and settled in Winona, Minnesota where he graduated from high school in 1975. Terry graduated from Winona State University with a degree in industrial technology. Following his education, he worked at Remmele Engineering in the Twin Cities. TC was united in marriage to Denise Stoltz on September 28, 1985, in Winona and they were blessed with four children, Dana, Kayla, Angela, and Benjamin. Following their marriage, they relocated to Forest Lake while he continued his career with Remmele Engineering. In 2003, TC started working with North Dakota Manufacturing Extension Partnership and moved to Detroit Lakes. He moved to Alexandria in 2016, working at SunOpta until his retirement, yet he continued working various jobs in his semi-retirement. He loved his most recent position in the produce department at Eldens. Terry was a member of the Alexandria Covenant Church. He enjoyed photography, fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing, hiking, gardening, using his engineering skills to build, and taking his dog, Gus for walks. TC was a cowboy at heart and loved westerns, chocolate chip cookies and ice cream, storytelling, and documenting his daily life in his journal, “the cabin log”.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Terry is survived by his three daughters, Dana (Ryan) Walsh of Pensacola, Florida, Kayla (Ray) Noble of Alexandria, and Angela (Dee) Kurtti-Cox of Moorhead; son, Benjamin (Cheyanne Lachowitzer) Cox of Detroit Lakes; mother, Avis Cox of Grafton, Massachusetts; former wife, Denise Cox of Detroit Lakes; sister, Elizabeth (Morio) Kubota of Grafton, Massachusetts; two brothers, Tom (Barb) Cox of Hillsboro, Missouri and Tim (Tracy) Cox of Springhill, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Aiden Kurtti, Milo Noble, Etta Noble, and Ava Walsh; three nieces, Natalie, Anne, and Cameron; two nephews, Nick and Brian; along with his faithful canine companion, Gus.
Pallbearers are Tim Cox, Tom Cox, Morio Kubota, Ben Cox, Ryan Walsh, and Ray Noble.
