Tammy L. Prokosch, age 42, of Parkers Prairie, died Friday, June 24, 2011, in Carlos.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2011, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Dave Gerhardt officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Kim Byrne and vocalists, Lois Johnson and Becky Shultz. Burial will take place at a later date.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.

Tammy Lynn Prokosch was born September 10, 1968, to Loren "Skip" and Linda (Shultz) Simonson in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota. Following her education she was united in marriage to John Prokosch July 16, 1988, in Stratford, Wisconsin. Following their marriage they were blessed with two children, R.J. and Angel. While living in Stratford, she worked as a caretaker at a nursing home. In the late 1990's, she returned to Minnesota where she worked as a bartender for various establishments, fully enjoying working with the public. In 2001, she began working with the St. William's Foster Care and continued doing so until 2010. Tammy loved fishing, playing bingo, reading, playing on the computer, gambling, going for long drives and listening to country music. Tammy was always very proud of her family. Family and friends were very important to her and there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with them. Tammy had a way of making you feel special, because you were special to her and had a special pet name for everybody. She loved her daily calls from her "Dolly", kids and grandkids.

Tammy is survived by her children, R.J. (Rhonda) Prokosch of Miltona and Angel Prokosch of Alexandria; grandchildren, Morgan and Camron; mother, Linda Simonson of Parkers Prairie; step-dad, Pete (Patti) Blumer of Isanti; former husband, John Prokosch of Valley City, North Dakota; two brothers, Kevin (Kelly) Simonson and Peter (Cindy) Blumer of Isanti; three sisters, Lisa Klimek of Isanti, Patty (Chris) Hobbs and Emily Simonson (Randy Skinner) of Parkers Prairie; four step-brothers, Patrick (Mandi) Torgerson, Jeremy Torgerson, Jay (Val) Torgerson and Jason Torgerson all of Isanti; step-sister, Brandi (Brandon) Massey of Texas; grandmothers, Marion Shultz of Hewitt and Marian Blumer of Princeton; nieces and nephews, Brandon and Alison Simonson, Matthew Powers, James (Mary) Klimek, Ashley and Tony Klimek, C.J. and Josh Hobbs, Danyel Hoysler, Jace Lawson, Bryce Blumer, Mariah, Ty, Tanner, Trae, Tate and MaKenna Torgerson; great-nephew, Thomas Klimek and her "Dolly" Bayley Roper; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Loren "Skip" Simonson; and grandparents, Dennis Shultz, Melvin Blumer and Palmer and Iva Simonson.

Urn bearers will be her children, R.J. and Angel.
