Steven Branson

Steven G. Branson, age 81, of Alexandria, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.

Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Steven, a longtime resident of Alexandria, was a devoted husband, father, and “Boppy.” He faithfully served 23 years as a registered nurse in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and was a two-time Purple Heart recipient in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; three children, Kim (Christina Mielke) Branson, Brent (Angela) Branson, and Scott (Randi) Branson; grandchildren, Jacob (Becca) Mielke, Emily (Travis) Timm, Katie (Hunter) Lancour, CPT Alexandra Branson, MNNG, Hunter (Abigail) Branson, Nicolis (Olivia) Mancia Chavez, and Taylor Branson; and great-grandchildren, Claire Mielke, Harrison Branson, James Mielke, and August Branson.
