Sally L. Falk, age 85, of Alexandria, died, Monday, January 15, 2018, at Sharon’s Senior Services in Alexandria.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 19, 2018, at New Life Christian Church in Alexandria with Pastor John Taplin officiating.  Music is provided by pianist, Sue Ronning and vocalist, Fred Walter.  Burial is at Evergreen Cemetery, Alexandria.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Thursday, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Sally LaVonne was born May 8, 1932, to Frank and Myrtle (Thompson) Gullgren in Minneapolis.  She attended and graduated from Central High School in Alexandria.  Sally was united in marriage to Eldo “Swede” Falk in June of 1949.  To this union, three sons were born, Gale, Greg and Gary.  During her life, Sally and her husband, Swede owned two restaurants in Minnesota, Leonard and Garfield.  She also worked for 3M in Alexandria for 24 years.  Sally retired at age 62, and spent a lot of time playing cards, Bingo and traveling.  Her husband, Swede died in May of 2011.  Following his death, Sally moved to Legacy Apartments.  She continued to travel with her sister, Donna until they no longer could.  Sally moved to Sharon’s Senior Services in September of 2017, where she lived until her death.  She was a member of New Life Christian Church where she was active and attended Bible Studies. She was also a member of the Rambling Rose Red Hats and VFW Auxiliary in Alexandria.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Gale and Greg; brother, Milo Gullgren; and two sisters, June Kiehne and Donna “Porter” Hopkins.

Sally is survived by her son, Gary (partner,Lisa Rubner) Falk of Eagle Bend; five grandchildren, Jamie (Darryl) Stout, Trisha Doty, Jeremy, Pam (Shon Bradley) Wark and Matthew (Helena) Wark; 11 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Darryl Stout, Nick Stout, Chris Stout, Chris Blanchard, Dan Roby, Gary Lund and Eddie Kramer.  Honorary pallbearers are the Rambling Rose Red Hats and VFW Auxiliary.
