Ruth V. Krumwiede, age 93, of Parkers Prairie, died Monday, January 3, 2011, at St. William's Living Center in Parkers Prairie.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at St. James Lutheran Church in Effington Township with Rev. Dennis Angland officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Judy Rademacher. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at the Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ruth Violet Krumwiede was born December 20, 1917, to Albert and Laura (Hass) Mulvanny in Wheaton, Minnesota. She was baptized in 1918, and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wheaton. She graduated from Wheaton High School and attended and graduated from Normal Teacher's College. Following her education she taught school for five years. She was united in marriage to Wallace G. Krumwiede on June 15, 1940, at Webster, South Dakota. Following their marriage they lived in Wheaton where she raised her family and worked as a bank teller. She and her husband moved to Alexandria in 1969, where they lived for a couple of years before moving to live on Lake Osakis for a short time. Ruth worked for First Bank in Alexandria for 15 years. They moved to Lake Aaron, near Millerville and lived there for 23 years before returning to Alexandria. They moved to Parkers Prairie in 1999, where she resided until the time of her death. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, gardening and travel.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 70 years, Wallace; a son, Charles (Rose) Krumwiede of Fargo, North Dakota; a daughter, Diane (Stan) Carlson of Staples; a brother, James Mulvanny of Minneapolis; four grandchildren, Lisa Ebert, David Carlson, Katie (John) Myers and K.C. Krumwiede; two great-grandchildren, Cassandra Carlson and Analise Ebert; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, John Mulvanny and brother, Lauren Mulvanny.

Pallbearers will be K.C. Krumwiede, Don Krumwiede, Gordon Krumwiede, Ron Bowman, John Myers and Paul Willard. Honorary pallbearers will be David Carlson, Roger and Pat Ruckheim and Ron and Maureen Roloff.
