Ruth Joan Krohnfeldt

Ruth J. Krohnfeldt, age 87, of Parkers Prairie, died on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at St. William’s Living Center in Parkers Prairie.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria with Rev. Matthew Lorenz officiating.  Interment will take place at Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery, Leaf Valley.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Monday at Lind Family Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service.

Ruth Joan was born on February 10, 1935, to Victor and Annetta (Freunberg) Diedrich in Parkers Prairie.  She graduated from Parkers Prairie High School. Ruth was united in marriage to Eugene Krohnfeldt on January 31, 1954. The couple was blessed with four children, Gary, Joanne, Gaylord, and Bradley. They resided at Lakeview Jersey Farm where they raised their children, teaching them the importance of family and a strong work ethic. Ruth was involved in all areas of the dairy farm operation along with maintaining a beautiful home. Following retiring from farming, Ruth and Eugene purchased a beautiful home near Alexandria where they could relax and enjoy family gatherings. Ruth spent time working with special needs children and in the kitchen at School District #206 during retirement. She was a longstanding member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, and its Ladies Aid. Ruth enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, puzzles and spending time with family and friends. She loved her pets and enjoyed their faithful canine companionship, especially, Spike, Buddy, and Marley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; sister, Yvonne; daughter, Joann; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Krohnfeldt.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Gary of Lenore City, Tennessee, Gaylord (Janice) of Alexandria and Mesa, Arizona, and Bradley (Nola) of Saginaw; sister, Barbara (Harold) Guenther of Leaf Valley; nine grandchildren, Eric, Lynette, Stephanie, Brandee, Whitney, Jennifer, Meagan, Paul, and Nicholas; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are her grandchildren.
