Ruth M. Krause, age 78, of Parkers Prairie died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at St. William's Living Center in Parkers Prairie, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Miltona with Rev. William Stockman officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Debra Joachim. Burial will take place at Parkers Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Miltona and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church.
Ruth Mary Krause was born September 16, 1934, to Rudolph and Doris (Zilker) Zeithamer on the family farm in Lake Mary Township, Douglas County, Minnesota. She attended country school, later Alexandria Public Schools and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1952. Following her education she worked as a bookkeeper for Runestone Electric Association in Alexandria until her marriage. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Krause July 7, 1954, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in West Miltona. Following their marriage, Ruth continued working as a bookkeeper. She worked for the Krause family farm, Krause Service, Krause Sand & Gravel and Krause Livestock Hauling. She and her husband retired in 1998, and enjoyed spending time on the farm and fishing together. She also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, playing cards, puzzles and watching birds. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
Ruth is survived by three sons, Loren (Lynn) Krause of Owatonna, Larry Krause of Miltona and Leon (Patty) Krause of Alexandria; a sister, Dorothy (Raymond) Trousil of Alexandria; two brothers, Richard (Sonja) Zeithamer of Alexandria and Kenneth (Arlene) Zeithamer of Farwell; two granddaughters, April (Matt) Grobner and Kayla (Robert) Vogel; two great-grandsons, Dillon Grobner and Tyler Grobner; along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence in 2005; and twin brother, Rudy Zeithamer.
Pallbearers will be Randy Zeithamer, Ron Zeithamer, Kenny Zeithamer, Steven Zeithamer, John Zeithamer and Kelly Hawkinson. Honorary pallbearers will be David Jante and Carl Jante.
