Born on May 7, 1946, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Joe and Ruth Grussing, her steady devotion translated into a 40-year calling as a nurse. She served at St. Louis Park and Methodist Hospitals before spending the majority of her career at Douglas County Hospital for 34 years. For Rosalie, nursing was never just a profession; it was a daily expression of her profound compassion and servanthood. She had a rare gift for making every single person she encountered feel truly seen and cared for.
At home, Rosalie was the absolute heart of her family. Her house was a place of welcoming warmth, often marked by the constant, comforting scent of something delicious in the oven. As her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest champion, her encouraging presence was a fixture in the bleachers and auditoriums of every sporting event, concert, and school activity. She found immense joy in life's simple pleasures: tending to her garden, watching Minnesota sports teams, playing cards with friends, gathering loved ones around her table, and cherishing family vacations to Lake Superior, Dead Lake, and across Minnesota.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Arvid; her children, Jody (Ben) Rittmiller, Brian (Kristin) Lotthammer, and Lori (Carl) Wallin; seven beloved grandchildren (Ethan, Sam, Cate, Andrew, Sophia, Izzy, and Gabby); her brothers, Vern (Kathy), Robert (Carol), Don, and Steve (Traci); her sister, Kathy (Cal) Braaksma; and a large, loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Rosalie loved deeply, served faithfully, and left the world far better than she found it. While her family deeply mourns her absence, they rejoice in knowing she is resting in the arms of her Savior. Her legacy of love remains their guiding light.
"Well done, good and faithful servant. Your love lives on in all of us.”
Memorials will be used towards a resting bench in memory of Rose.
