Ronald "Ron" Sibert, age 77, of Parkers Prairie, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at St. William's Living Center in Parkers Prairie.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church, North Effington with Rev. Dane Compton officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Gloria Hollatz. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ronald Sibert was born in Bertha, Minnesota to Emerson C. and Anna W. (Froehlich) Sibert. He graduated from Bertha High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. Following his honorable discharge he lived and worked at Spruce Center Bait Company. He worked at General Tire in Minneapolis, Lampert Lumber and Fortwengler Electric in Parkers Prairie. He retired in 1998, after 12 years of service with Alexandria Extrusion Company. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Hollatz on June 25, 1960, at Zion Lutheran Church. Following their marriage they made their home in Parkers Prairie. He was confirmed as an adult on February 15, 1961. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Parkers Prairie American Legion Post #219. He was an excellent handyman and shared his gift in many ways, including taking care of the general maintenance at Zion Lutheran Church. His hobbies included reading western paperbacks, cooking and gardening. He enjoyed the outdoors, feeding birds and squirrels in his yard, fishing and hunting whitetail deer with his children, grandchildren and friends.

Ron is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two sons, Terry, Sr. (Colleen) of Alexandria and James (Jody) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a brother, Emerson D. (Anita) Sibert of Alexandria; a sister, Elaine Mann of New York Mills; five grandchildren, Erin (George) Arroyo, Terry Sibert, Jr., Kayla Sibert, Matthew Sibert and Taylor Marie Sibert; aunt, Rosa Luedtke of Washington State; nieces and nephews, Joanne (Dan) Hertwig, Judy (Steve) McIntire, David (Lisa) Mann, Duane (Carla) Mann, Dale (Judy) Mann, Kathy (Terry) Wagenman and Randy (Joy) Meissner; along with many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Donald Mann; nephews, Roger Sibert, Les Sibert and Kerry Meissner; and sister-in-law, Myrtle and Clinton Meissner.
