Ronald Paul was born on May 22, 1959, the fifth child to Wilhelm “Willie” and Shirley (Peterson) Myren in Alexandria. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Parkers Prairie High School. He continued his education for a year at Alexandria Technical College in the Finance and Credit Program. Ron was united in marriage to Charlene “Char” Wiener on September 3, 1983, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River. Ron began his career in the shipping and receiving department at Johnson Tool Company in Clarissa. He later farmed dairy and crops while also spending 15 years in home construction and remodeling. Ron went on to hold maintenance positions at St. William’s Living Center in Parkers Prairie and St. Mary’s Church in Alexandria before joining Douglas County Public Works, where he worked for more than 20 years. In retirement, he continued to stay active, working part-time at Fleet Farm. Ron was a proud member of the Miltona Volunteer Fire Department for 14 years and served on the Miltona City Council. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, sharing these pastimes with his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time outdoors—gardening, planting trees, tending deer plots, and feeding wildlife and birds. He took great pride in maintaining an orderly home and a beautifully manicured yard. During retirement, Ron developed a wonderful friendship with his neighbor, sharing a mutual hobby of beekeeping. Known for his willingness to lend a helping hand, Ron had a natural gift for listening and connecting with others. His loyalty, kindness, and generosity earned him many lifelong friendships. Above all, Ron was deeply devoted to his wife and family, serving as a steady pillar of love and support throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie in 2005, and mother, Shirley on August 18, 2025; brothers-in-law, Warren Dreger, Jerry Hoaglund, and Michael Wiener; and great-nephew, Caleb Kunstleben.
Ron is survived by his wife of 42 years, Char; two sons, Aaron (Dawn) Myren and Paul (Alyssa) Myren both of Alexandria; four grandchildren, Braelyn, Henry, Mason, and Kyla; siblings, Mary Dreger of Sauk Centre, Sharon Hoaglund of Alexandria, Donald (Ann Domagala) Myren of Brainerd, Marilyn (Kevin) Aigner of Surprise, Arizona, and Susan (Doug) Hansen of Dalton; parents-in-law; Bob and Mary Wiener of Alexandria; brother-in-law, Randy (Dee Dee) Wiener of Cold Spring; sister-in-law, Melody Christensen of Brush, Colorado; along with many nieces and nephews.
Urnbearers are Jeff Koep, Harlan Oberg, John Christian, and Greg Lieser.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Vivie Hospice or Centra Care Gorecki Guest House in St. Cloud.
