Ronald Eugene Isaac was born on November 23, 1942, to Floyd and Beatrice (Kaminski) Isaac at Mercy Hospital in Jackson, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan Center High School in 1961. Ron served in the Navy Reserves while furthering his education at Jackson Junior College, where he earned a degree in business engineering. After his honorable discharge from the Reserves, Ron enlisted in active duty with the United States Air Force, serving in Okinawa. Ron was honorably discharged in 1965. While stationed in Wadena, he met his future bride, Mary Jane Skarka, and they were united in marriage on February 1, 1965, in Sisseton, South Dakota. Ron and Mary Jane made their home in Brooklyn, Michigan, where he worked for Walker Manufacturing for three years before returning to Minnesota. They settled in Champlin, and Ron worked as an engineer for Thermal King in Bloomington for 33 years. After retiring, Ron and Mary Jane moved to Alexandria. Together they enjoyed traveling in their RV across the United States and, in more recent years, spending time at local campgrounds. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. Ron enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and restoring old cars. In his younger years, he played slow pitch softball and was known by many as “Animal.” Last year, he especially cherished the opportunity to take a four-generation fishing trip to Canada. Ron loved his family, especially time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Arnold and Irene Skarka; son-in-law Brian Fields; and brother-in-law David Becker.
Ron is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary; two sons, Scott (Gina) Isaac of Rogers and Troy Isaac of Alexandria; daughter Tamara Fields of Harris; nine grandchildren, Adam (Vanessa Vojta) Isaac, Ashley Isaac, Chenoa (Dan) Peck, Marais (John) Adams, Kylie (Mitch) Berg, Mike Fields, Jesse Isaac, Josie Isaac, and Wyatt Isaac; nine great-grandchildren, Levie Isaac, Logan Isaac, Liam Isaac, Landon Isaac, Rayna Peck, Savannah Peck, Walker Berg, Jade Berg, and Jay Adams; sisters, Pat (Jerry) Baumgardner of Clark Lake, Michigan and Mary (Roger) Weaver of Brooklyn, Michigan; along with many other relatives and friends.
