Ron was born on June 23, 1942, to Edmund and Helen (Griess) Nuss in Sutton, Nebraska. He attended District #11 Country School in York County, Nebraska through the 8th grade. He attended public schools in Sutton for a year before his family moved to Alexandria where he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1961. Ron attended Alexandria Technical College where he received a degree in carpentry. He was united in marriage to Shirley Stein on September 19, 1964. Following their marriage, they built a home together in Alexandria, where they were blessed with two children, Ron Jr. and Cindy. Ron worked as a carpenter, management trainee at Lampert Lumber Company, a partner at Alex Surge: a dairy supply company and as a realtor. He and his wife, Shirley moved to Mesa, Arizona where he worked as a technician at a plastic injection company until his retirement. Ron’s interests included hunting and fishing. He was a 'do-it-yourself' guy; fixing cars, working on his house, and tackling anything he could get his hands on. Most of all, he loved to visit with family and friends. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ron is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley; son, Ron (Heather) Nuss, Jr. of Arizona; daughter, Cindy (Dale) Anderson of Minnesota; grandchildren, Hannah and Kara Nuss; four sisters, Delores (Dick) Hicks of Minnesota, Arlis Jackson and Joanne (Dennis) Dietrich both of Missouri, and Peggy Schulz of California; along with nieces and nephews.
Your expression of sympathy is deeply appreciated and gratefully acknowledged. Thank you, cards will not be sent. The family of Ron Nuss.
