Robert C. Graf, age 90, of Elgin, Illinois passed away June 6, 2015, at his home in Parkers Prairie.
Robert Clarence Graf was born July 27, 1924, to William and Pauline (Deihs) Graf in Elgin, Illinois. He graduated from Elgin High School in 1942. Following his graduation he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served his country during World War II. Robert fought in the South Pacific campaign until the end of his tour of duty. He was united in marriage to Shirley Jahnke March 11, 1950. Robert worked as a master carpenter before retiring from Lamp Contruction in 1981. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Elgin. He resided in Elgin until 2010, when he moved to Parkers Prairie to live with his daughter and family. Robert's passion in life was fishing, family and his yellow lab, Sammy. He spent much of his free time fishing at a special lake in Wisconsin and was affectionately referred to as "Walleye Bob" in that area. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirely in 1966; eight brothers, Charles, William, Ben, Sam, Frank, David, Edward and Walter; eight sisters, Elsie Newberry, Rose Haumiller, Sarah Levey, Marie Kimball, Martha Loehner, Louise Schifferer, Nina Willaert and Julia Graf.
Robert is survived by his daughter Kimberly (Jeffrey) Vosburgh of Parkers Prairie; grandson, James Vosburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at a future date at Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin, Illinois.
