Glenwood

Robert “Bob” Arthur Chase, age 73, of Glenwood, MN died peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at St. Cloud Hospital following complications related to ongoing health issues.

Bob was born on October 5, 1952, to Noel and Betty (Wright) Chase in Webster Groves, Missouri. He was raised there in a home grounded in faith, fun and music, growing up in the First Congregational Church where service to others was an important part of his life. From a young age, he showed a caring and dependable spirit, often helping his grandparents and those around him whenever he could.

After high school, Bob continued his education at the University of Kansas, where he studied Linguistics and became involved with New Life Fellowship. It was during this time that he met Carol Fields. They were united in marriage on April 17, 1977, beginning a lifelong bond rooted in faith, commitment, and family.

Bob was a natural problem-solver who took pride in working with his hands. Throughout his career, he applied his mechanical skill, creativity, and patience to a wide range of work, always finding purpose in building, repairing, and helping others. Music was a meaningful part of his life. Bob loved to sing and brought joy to many through his performances, especially sharing his love of Frank Sinatra and classic music.

As life presented challenges, Bob always met them with perseverance and quiet strength. He remained engaged in his faith and community, drawing comfort from church and fellowship. When his health allowed, he enjoyed boating, camping, creating things by hand, and collecting model cars. Bob was known for being a good communicator. He was personable, fun-loving, and solution-oriented with an easy warmth that put people at ease.

Above all, Bob was devoted to his marriage, fatherhood, his family, and faith. He will be remembered for his kindness, resilience, creativity, and steady spirit, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Betty (Wright) Chase; maternal grandparents, Roy Lee and Margaret Wright; paternal grandparents, Beverly C. and Ethel Chase; and sister Sally.

Bob is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Benjamin, daughter-in-law Jennifer; grandchildren Connor, Gage, Jace, and Braelyn; great-granddaughter Ember; daughter, Cyra; sister, Judy; nieces, Carmen, Lauren, Niki, and Lindsay; nephew, Justin; along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.
