Raymond "Ray" M. Koep, age 80, of Columbia Heights, formerly of Millerville, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Crestview Lutheran Home in Columbia Heights.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors in Millerville with Fr. Peter VanderWeyst officiating. Music is provided by Heavenly Harmony and Voices of Joy. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Raymond Mathias Koep was born September 25, 1934, to Mathias and Mathilda (Lambertz) Koep in Leaf Mountain Township. He was baptized at Our Lady of Seven Dolors. Ray attended Leaf Mountain Country School District 70 and worked on the family farm. Ray was united in marriage to Junelyn Koeplin August 14, 1976, at Our Lady of Victory in Fergus Falls. Following their marriage they made their home in Millerville where he farmed and worked as a self-employed painter. Ray was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors, Knights of Columbus and Urbank Lions Club. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing and was especially fond of fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and two sisters, Loretta Koep and Olivia Gahlon.
Ray is survived by his sister, Delores Marquette of Columbia Heights; brother, Walter (Mary) Koep of Brainerd; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are friends and family.
