Randy was born on September 26, 1952, to Floyd and Carol (Bucholz) Keller in Ortonville. He grew up in Annandale and graduated from high school in 1970. Shortly after, he began working at a cheese factory in Winsted, where he spent the next 10 years making cheese. Randy reconnected with his future bride, Sharon Andreoff, whom he had first met when they were just 8 and 10 years old. They were united in marriage on November 18, 1971, in Watertown, South Dakota. The couple began their life together in Winsted, living with Randy’s parents before moving briefly to Howard Lake. In 1979, they settled in Alexandria, where they raised their four children and Randy began a 22-year career as a welder with HF Olson (Standard Iron). Following a battle with stomach cancer, Randy transitioned to a role at Walmart, where he worked for 25 years. His favorite department was sporting goods, which gave him the opportunity to mentor kids each summer at the local shooting range, teaching them how to safely use firearms. He fully retired in 2024. Randy was a proud member of AA, celebrating 37 years of sobriety. He was also a former member of the Rifle Association and Trapping Association for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman, that loved fishing and hunting. Above all, he treasured time with his family, passing down his passion for hunting and the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joshua; brother Tim; and infant brother Bobby.
Randy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon; three children, Stanford "Stan" (Loretta) Keller of Perham, Jennifer "Jenny" (Mike) Nielson of Vernal, Utah, and Floyd (Erin) Keller of Bemidji; brother Mark Keller of Sunbury, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Zachery “Zach”, Hayley (Andrew), Ethan, Christopher, Elizabeth (Joe), and Thomas James “T.J.”; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
