Ralph Hetland

Ralph J. Hetland, age 73, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, October 28, 2010, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Jonathan Sorum officiating. Music will be provided by Kim Byrne. Burial will take place at Folden Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ralph Julius Hetland was born September 11, 1937, to Emil and Clara (Anderson) Hetland in Henning, Minnesota. He grew up in Henning and attended Henning Public School. He was confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Henning. Following his education he worked various jobs, including farm work, on a turkey farm, as a painter and at the Miltona Locker Plant. He was united in marriage to Judith Vouri on June 6, 1992, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. His favorite pastime was watching cable television.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Judy; two sisters, Marilyn (Vernon) Wegner of Oregon City, Oregon and Vivian (Cliff) Baker of Canby, Oregon; two sisters-in-law, Betty Hetland of Henning and Elvina Hetland of Minneapolis; along with nieces and nephews.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Vernon, Lester, Wesley and Gordon; and two infants sisters, Gladys and Lillian.

Pallbearers will Richard Armstrong, Amanda Armstrong, Andrew Hetland and David Hansen.
