Pearl Dierkhissing

Pearl Dierkhissing, age 83 of Moose Lake, formerly of Parkers Prairie passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the
Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake, MN.
Pearl Lucille Kalpin was born on March 11, 1927 near Parkers Prairie to William and Martha (Hink) Kalpin. She grewup in the Parkers Prairie area and was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Pearl took care of her younger siblings and was active in school musicals with a love for geography and history. After middle school, she moved to the Twin Cities and worked at the Griggs Cooper Bldg. on University Ave. packing rations for the WWII servicemen. In 1949 she was married to John Kraemer. After John's death in 1952, Pearl remarried to Donald Dierkhissing in the year 1955. They lived in Waite Park and later St. Cloud. Pearl worked as a sales clerk and eventually a buyer for the Herbergers Department store. This led to a job doing accounting work for Coborn'sGrocery and Quality Fish & Seafood. During her time in St. Cloud, Pearl belonged to the American Legion. Eventually she did bookkeeping for both North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale (where she lived for 37 years) and Mill Mutual Insurance Co. Pearl had a lifelong love of music and was an avid reader. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren. An expert financier and buyer, Pearl always found everyone on her list the perfect gift no matter what the occasion. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. She lived and died in love and compassion. She will be dearly missed.
Blessed be her memory and rich legacy.
