Norma Marie (Ost) Erickson passed away on her 84th birthday on June, 9, 2014.

Funeral services are 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Burial is at Parkers Prairie Cemetery.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Norma was born to Harry and Dolly (Ostgaard) Ost in Alexandria, Minnesota.  She grew up Parkers Prairie. Norma was united in marriage to Thomas Erickson.  Norma loved our Savoir Jesus Christ, her family; her parents, siblings, children, and her grandchildren, music, gardens, a really good book, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, & Solitaire.  In the 40+ years of teaching piano to both kids and adults she impacted 500+ students. Norma had a way of touching people hearts of all ages and became 2nd mom to foster children, many piano students and countless numbers of her children's friends. In addition, to the teaching piano, Norma also shared her joy of music by being the choir director at several of the local churches throughout the years.

She was preceded in death her parents; sisters, Carol Jean Ost and Dottie Wistrom; brother, Douglas Ost; son-in-law, Todd Anderson and foster daughter, Kristin Thorson.

Norma is survived by her son, David (Lisa) Erickson of Long Lake; daughters, Elizabeth Fournier of Phoenix, Arizona and Naomi (Walter) Johnson of Delano;  brother, David (Linda) Ost of Bakersfield, California; six grandchildren, Tim (Wendi) Fournier, Kaytee Fournier, Todd Erickson, Carly Erickson, Nathan Johnson and Sarah Johnson; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Pallbearers are Norma's loved ones.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local Animal Humane Society or other local animal protection agency; The American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice preferably in regards to advancement in music appreciation or literacy.
