Noel S. Bennis, age 49, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at his home in Minneapolis.
A celebration of life and Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis with Fr. Rick Aubol. Interment will take place at a later date.
A visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m., prior to the service at the church.
Noel Scott was born on May 25, 1974, to Steven and Patricia (Lafore) Bennis in Minneapolis. He was the eldest child, baptized, received first holy communion, and confirmed at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brooklyn Center. Noel attended Brooklyn Center Elementary school and graduated from Brooklyn Center High School in 1992. He pursued higher education at the University of Minnesota Duluth, earning his B.A. in 1996. Following college, he briefly worked at Regions Hospital before embarking on a career at the Tile Shop, where he climbed the ranks from salesman to manager and eventually to regional manager. Over his 25-year career, he traveled extensively, opening multiple stores and overseeing operations in Illinois, Kansas, and Texas. Noel was passionate about his work, and he remained employed at the Tile Shop until his passing. When not working, he could often be found on the golf course, participating in Sunday league matches and ensuring his golf clubs accompanied him on his travels. He was also an avid fisherman, spending many weekends on the lake, including annual fishing trips to Lake of the Woods. Additionally, he enjoyed camping and completed several journeys through the boundary waters. Throughout his life, he was lovingly accompanied by his cat, Bogee.
He is preceded in death by his father, Steven Bennis; aunt, Terry LaFore
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Bennis of Osakis; stepmother, Karen Bennis of Georgia; sister, Robin (Eric) Rasmussen of Parkers Prairie; uncle, Wayne LaFore of Alexandria; nieces and nephews, Harley, Evvon, and Madeline; cousins, Brad, Bryan, and Jill; and many friends.
