Neva Andrews

Neva B. Andrews, age 92, of Alexandria, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the 6th Avenue Community Center, 1615 6th Avenue E, Alexandria.

Neva Andrews was born September 2, 1925, in Sugarville, Utah. When she was in the fifth grade she moved with her family to southern Idaho where her dad rented a farm. Her growing up years were happy ones, learning to feed chickens, milk cows by hand and drive a team of horses. Neva graduated from high school in Jerome, Idaho and went on to complete teacher’s training at Albion State Normal School. She taught school for three years in Ontario, Oregon where she met her future husband, Edward Ellis Andrews. After their marriage, Ed and Neva attended seminary and later joined Wycliffe Bible Translators. They served as missionaries with Wycliffe for 46 years. After retirement, Neva pursued her love of writing and authored four books for children and one young adult novel. She was an avid gardener and loved to sing and play her mountain dulcimer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband.

Neva is survived by her five children, Jean (David) Schonberg, Dan (Pat) Andrews, Joe (Kim) Andrews, Bill (Missy) Andrews and Richard (Kirsten) Andrews; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
