Nancy Lee Anderson, formerly of Pine City, passed away Monday the 9th of May at her home in Alexandria.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Alexandria Covenant Church with Rev. Rollie Mossberg and Rev. Kelly Davis officiating. Music is provided by pianist, Wendy Jergenson and vocalists, Ken Krantz and Sam Camos. Burial is at Geneva Cemetery, Alexandria.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Friday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Nancy was born in 1942 in Brainerd. She was the third of four children in a family who were very involved in the Church of the Nazarene. She began teaching Sunday School in her high school years and went on to receive an education degree from Northwest Nazarene College. Nancy began her teaching career in the Minneapolis public schools, during which time she met Lauren through friends. They were married and moved to the farm near Pine City, where Nancy soon acclimated to country life. Later on, she resumed her career at the Pine City Cooperative Nursery School, where she taught for 16 years. Nancy was active in her church, taking on many roles. She was involved in 4-H as an adult leader, and supported local performing arts with her sewing and crafts. Nancy and Lauren moved to Alexandria in 2006. She described her hobbies as flying kites, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. Wherever she was, Nancy shared her deep faith through her hospitality and inviting personality.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Ellen (Burkart) Davis, and brother, Larry Davis.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Lauren; sister, Janice Lee of Brainerd; brother, Kelly Davis of Boise, Idaho; children, Sarah (Ken) Krantz of Alexandria, Matt (Crystal) Anderson of Beatrice, Nebraska, and Dan (Kristin) Anderson of Eagan; six grandchildren, Jeffrey and Loren Krantz, Grace and Myra Anderson, and Thomas and TJ Anderson; aunts, Pat Jewell and Ruth Ringquist; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers are Matt Nord, Thomas Lindstrom, Ken Krantz, Dillon Lindstrom, Lane Lindstrom and Bruce Jasperson. Honorary pallbearers are Jeffrey and Loren Krantz, Grace and Myra Anderson, Thomas and TJ Anderson and Chelsey Trujillo.
