She was baptized June 11, 1911, and confirmed April 10, 1927, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. She grew up in Parkers Prairie where she attended country school. She was united in marriage to Erick Schultz December 29, 1930, in Fergus Falls. Following their marriage, they lived in rural Parkers Prairie, raised three children, held various jobs and were hard workers. Myrtle retired from the Parkers Prairie School District after 24 years as a school cook. She never missed a day of work and served approximately 2,520,000 meals in her career, which is remarkable! She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was an excellent baker and enjoyed entertaining. She could often be found outdoors, working in her flower gardens; feeding and housing birds was another of her passions.
