Myrna A. Zimmerman, age 74, of Richfield, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Ecumen Bethany Home in Alexandria.
Funeral services are 11 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2016, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Rev. William Moeller officiating. Music is provided by organist, Sue Nelson. Burial is at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery, Belle River.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Thursday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Myrna Alice Zimmerman was born on October 25, 1941, to Edward and Thelma (Case) Hetland at home in rural Eagle Bend. She graduated from Eagle Bend High School in 1959. Myrna was united in marriage to William Zimmerman on September 10, 1961, at St. Nicholas Church in Belle River. She was a stay at home mom raising three sons, later returning to work as a cook at Edina Care Center before retiring. Myrna had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies included reading and word puzzles. She also had a special place in her heart for her dogs, Peanut and Beau.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Leo Hetland; and sister, Arlene Loeffert.
Myrna is survived by her three sons, Jamie (Kristy) Zimmerman, Jodie (Denise Leeman) Zimmerman, and Jason (Stella) Zimmerman; brother, Jerry (Nancy) Hetland; three grandchildren, Katie Lynn, Daniel, and Michael Zimmerman; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Daniel Zimmerman, Michael Zimmerman, Melissa Hetland, Nathan Hetland, Craig Lusty, and Jordyn Hetland.
