Mary E. Husted

Mary E. Husted, 90, of Clarissa, formerly of Alexandria, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019, at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Friday, May 24, 2019, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria.  Interment will take place at Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria.

A visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mary Ellen Swartz was born November 25, 1928 in Taylor Township, Michigan, the first daughter of Howard and Ruth (Jennings) Swartz. Mary was employed by Ford Motor Company, as an Operator for a Steel Press at the Rouge Plant in Dearborn, Michigan. When she relocated to Alexandria, she was employed as the Head of Housekeeping at the Arrowwood Resort.

She was united in marriage to Victor Husted in February 1947. They were the parents to Earl Lawrence (Larry)Husted, Evansville; Michael Howard Husted, Alexandria; Karen Ruth Jahnke, and Mary Elizabeth Morgan, all of Alexandria, and all four preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her four siblings,  brother, Howard Gerald "Jerry" Swartz, Alexandria; and three sisters,  Kathleen Poston, Farmingham, Massachusetts: Susan Brown, Spokane, Washington; and Sarah "Sally" husband, Charles Zickur, Alexandria.

Mary is survived by her eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Winifred (Alden) Thompson, Ashby; and brother, David (Margaret) Swartz, San Antonio, Texas.

Pallbearers are Damion Holmquist, Adam Holmquist, Logan Petersen, Isaac Piekarski, Virgil Lindely, and Joey Miller.
