Marvey Arne was born on July 2, 1942, to Adolph and Ida (Pomerenke) Mayer at home on the family farm near Miltona. He attended country school in rural Miltona and in 1960, graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in Palm Springs, California, and actively involved during the Cuban Missile Crisis aboard a Naval ship. He was honorably discharged in 1963 and returned home to farm with his father.

Later, Marvey relocated to the Twin Cities and worked for Pioneer/Protec for 18 years. On August 18, 1988, he married Becky Yeske at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Spring Lake Park. Transitioning to become a tool and die maker, he applied his skills across various organizations in the cities until retiring in 2009. Following retirement, Marvey and Becky returned to the family farm near Miltona, where he pursued farming as a hobby. He was an active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.

Marvey enjoyed gardening, serving as the go-to handyman, and tackling DIY projects. His passion for tractors encompassed everything from driving to repairing them. He was an avid deer hunter and above all, Marvey cherished his family and relished time spent with them.
