Molly Maureen was born on March 10, 1948, to Karl and Hilda (Domres) Joachim in Wales, North Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. The family moved to Parkers Prairie, where she graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1966. She continued her education at Moorhead State for a few years. Molly was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Lonnie Schultz, on August 17, 1968. They lived in Mankato for a short time before moving to Alexandria and then to Lake Miltona. Molly stayed at home to raise their children and, in the late 1980s, did bookkeeping for the family business, Schultz Pest Control. In 1992, she began her waitressing career at the Peak Supper Club, where she worked until 2007. In 1993, the family moved to a farm north of Parkers Prairie. Lonnie passed away suddenly in 1999, and Molly stayed on the farm, cherishing the memories they had built together. She started working at Walmart in 2007 and remained there until her full retirement in 2020. She moved into Parkers Prairie in 2008. After her daughter Jan passed away unexpectedly in 2011, Molly lovingly took in and raised her grandchildren, Jackson and Mason. Molly was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching Minnesota sports, cooking, gardening, and enjoyed the lake and wildlife. She also enjoyed playing whist, card games, sudoku, crosswords, and watching the gameshow network. Her greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren. Her family was her everything, and she was their rock. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lonnie; daughter, Jan Schultz; brothers, Roy, Edward, and Charles Joachim; sisters, Joyce Sperling and Gayle Korfhage; infant sister, Melva Joachim; and many family-in-law.
Molly is survived by her son, Eric (Liz) Schultz of Alexandria; daughter, Jill Schultz of Parkers Prairie; six grandsons, Jackson Lynch and Mason Schultz, Zachary and Jacob Schultz, Nicholas and Logan Lahman; along with many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
Serving as casket bearers are her loving grandsons, Jackson, Mason, Jacob, Logan, Nicholas, Zachary; son, Eric Schultz; and family friends, Pete Lauthen and Kyle Bettin.
Honorary bearers are J.D. Ellingson, Benjie Schoenrock, Chris Schoenrock, Scott Olson, Josh Schoenrock, Eric Jaspersen, Matt Wilson, and Jamie Wilson.
