Marlys J. Christensen, age 78, of Miltona, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Knute Nelson Home in Alexandria.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Miltona with Rev. Stockman officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Debra Joachim. Burial will take place at Hope Cemetery in Eagle Bend.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday at the Lind Family Funeral Home in Miltona and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marlys Jo Ann Christensen was born March 29, 1932, to Emil and Luella (Rasmussen) Reierson in Eagle Bend, Minnesota. She grew up in Eagle Bend where she attended public school. She was united in marriage to Donald A. Christensen on June 29, 1951, at the parsonage in Bertha. Following their marriage they moved to the Twin Cities where she babysat her sister's children and worked at Montgomery Wards. They returned to the Eagle Bend area, lived in Leaf Valley, Parkers Prairie and the Rose City area where she worked as a waitress for ten years. They retired and moved to Miltona in 1992. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. She enjoyed attending Bible studies, flower gardening and watching mysteries on television.
Marlys is survived by three sons, Lennie (Esther) Christensen of Rose City, Michael (Rosi) Christensen of Parkers Prairie and Scott (significant other, Julie Peterson) Christensen of Miltona; four daughters, Kim (Rick) Pfarr of Salem, Oregon, Susan (Raule) Tejeda of Alexandria, Bonnie (Scott) Gillette of Carpentersville, Illinois and Brenda (Chuck) Coyer of Alexandria; a brother, Dennis (Joan) Reierson of Alexandria; a sister, Myrna Johnson of Clarissa; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Juleann; grandson, Chad; sisters, Lyla Murch and Margie Hess and husband, Donald in 2008.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jacob Christensen, Garbriel Christensen, Shawn Christensen, Mario Tejeda, Kory Coyer and Eric Coyer. Honorary pallbearers will be her remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
