Marliss J. Fleck, age 94, of Alexandria, formerly Rugby, North Dakota, died on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Grand Arbor in Alexandria

Marliss Joyce was born on April 2, 1928, to John and Garnet (Greene) Holm in Rugby, North Dakota. She graduated from Rugby High School. Marliss continued her education at Secretary School and Teacher Training. She was united in marriage to Glenn F. Fleck on May 15, 1948, in Rugby. They were blessed with three children, that Marliss stayed at home to raise. She also worked outside the home, teaching country school, holding secretarial positions, being a nurse’s aide in the hospital, and owned Montgomery Wards Agency. Marliss was a member of the Eastern Star, Bible study groups, and ladies aide groups. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, shopping, worrying, and visiting relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; and three siblings, Richard Holm, Milton Holm, and Eleanor Kittilson.
Marliss is survived by her three children, Dakota “Coty” (Al) Lund, Mark (Margaret) Fleck, and Jon (Randy Jacobs) Fleck; four grandchildren, Kecia (Eric Addington) Lund, Keegan (Krista Espelien) Lund, Kinndlee (Josh Baesler) Lund, and Mallory (Chris) Brown; seven great-grandchildren.
