Mark Crawford

Mark Crawford of Westport, Minnesota died unexpectedly of a heart attack on February 6, 2020, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria.

A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.

Mark Brian Crawford was born on March 16, 1958,  to Ron and Jan (Davis) Crawford, who preceded him in death.  He is survived by his wife, Cindy; daughters, Angie and Jenna; son, Casey; grandchildren, Taylor, Jasper, Kolby and Dane; stepchildren, Jessica and Allecia Salminen (her children, Christopher and Matthew); brother, Scott Crawford, sister, Kelly (Paul) Simonette; and many nieces and nephews.

Mark was raised in Bloomington, Minnetonka Mills, Maple Lake and Hopkins.  In recent years, he made his home in Westport and worked at the VFW in Alexandria.

Mark enjoyed playing baseball, starting at  a young age in little league.  He later played softball and broom-ball.  He also enjoyed fishing, taking several trips to the BWCA with friends and family. In the winter, he enjoyed ice fishing and snowmobiling.  He also enjoyed a competitive game of chess with any worthy opponent.

Mark will be remembered for his razor sharp wit and living life on his own terms.
