Mark William was born on May 13, 1933, to George and Nora (Lucier) Bramwell in Minneapolis. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. Mark grew up in Northeast Minneapolis, where he attended school through the primary grades. He left his education early to work and provide support for his parents and seven siblings. Mark earned his GED while proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1955.
He was united in marriage to Phyllis Hockert on October 15, 1955, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank. They made their home in the Twin Cities area, primarily in New Hope. Mark worked in sales in the printing industry throughout his career, retiring in 1999. Following retirement, Mark and Phyllis spent winters in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas and summers at Lake Aaron in Millerville. In 2002, they moved to Lake Aaron full-time. Mark was an active member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and lector. He joined the Knights of Columbus at a young age of 21, serving the brotherhood for 71 years.
Mark enjoyed golfing, fishing, and cribbage, but cherished time with his family where his sense of humor, one-liners, and stories were sure to liven every room he was in. He was a generous host, always focused on hospitality to others. He genuinely loved people, especially the little ones. He would strike up conversation with anyone at anytime.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nora Bramwell.
