Margaret Elaine was born on August 9, 1943, to Erwin and Miriam (Johnson) Zaske in Wadena. She grew up on the family farm near Deer Creek and graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1961. She began her career in nursing as she first attended school in Brainerd and later went on to complete her LPN Degree. Following her education, Margaret worked in Minneapolis briefly and at the Parkers Prairie Hospital for a short time. She was united in marriage to the love of her life Arlan Andresen on October 10, 1964, in Deer Creek. They were blessed with three children, Teresa, Mark, and Tim. Margaret worked in nursing for over 30 years at Knute Nelson in Alexandria and retired in the late 1990’s. Following retirement, she focused her gifts and energy on creating beauty in crafting, through crocheting, embroidery, quilting, knitting, and sewing. She enjoyed selling her wares at special events in Parkers Prairie and other local events in the area. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and an active member of the Scandinavian Christian Church in rural Deer Creek. She was also a former member of the Parkers Prairie Booster Club. Margaret enjoyed flower gardening and loved watching and feeding her birds. She collected solar lighting and bells and enjoyed tracing genealogy for her family. She was a strong supporter of Parkers Prairie High School Sports, where she volunteered countless hours (over 30 years) keeping the score book and taking admission. Margaret loved sporting events as she was the #1 Fan for her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. If there was a game in town, on the radio, or on television she would be watching or listening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Arlan; daughter, Teresa Steidl; brothers-in-law, Russ Andrews and James Hestekind; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hilding and Elaine Geithman.
