LouAnn D. Anderson, age 94, of Parkers Prairie, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at St. William’s Living Center in Parkers Prairie.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kathryn Rothman officiating. Music is provided by organist, Maureen Diedrich and vocalist, Heather Oachs. Interment will take place at the Swedish Lutheran Cemetery, Parkers Prairie.

Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m.

LouAnn Darlene was born on September 29, 1928, to August and Inez (Lukken) Hemquist in Elmo Township, rural Parkers Prairie. She was baptized in October 1928, and confirmed in June 1942, both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. LouAnn graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1946. Following her education, she began working at Al Schamber’s Grocery for a few years. LouAnn was united in marriage to John “Jack” Anderson on August 24, 1948, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. Together they were blessed with three children. LouAnn sold Avon Beauty products while also teaching Release Time at her home and church every Wednesday afternoon for many years. She was a lifetime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Lou Ann enjoyed quilting, gardening, tending to her many flowers, and watching the Minnesota Twins. She loved her family, especially attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, “Jack” in 2010; brother, Harvey (Lillian) Hemquist; and sister, Ardis Erickson.

LouAnn is survived by her three children, Judy (Larry) Lahman and Gary “Andy” (Kathy) Anderson both of Parkers Prairie, and Lori (Jim) Bruggers of Buffalo; eight grandchildren, David Lahman, Ryan (Jessica) Lahman, Amy (Daryl) Horn, Nathan (Brittany) Lahman, Heather (Matthew) Oachs, Jenna (Nathan) Kromann, Jesse Rick, and Amber (Ben) Hellerman; three step-grandchildren, Paul (Luane) Bruggers, Jill (Brendon) Lawrence, and Tom (Stephanie) Bruggers; 11 great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Logan Lahman, Brooklyn Oachs, Noah Kromann, Aubree Hellerman, Asher Oachs, Kavik and Evan Lahman, Tucker Hellerman, and Levi and Ethan Kromann; 10 step-great-grandchildren, Mitch, Adam, and Payton Bruggers, Weston Lawrence, and Joey Bruggers, Callista and Mitchel Gardner, Chase Lawrence, and Michael and Sam Bruggers; along with many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are her grandchildren.
