Loraine D. Jahnke

Loraine D. Jahnke, age 89, of Parkers Prairie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at St. William’s Living Center under the care of Hospice of Douglas County.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church, North Effington Township with Rev. Dennis Angland officiating. Music is provided by organist, Gloria Hollatz and vocalist, Dedra Zwieg. Interment will be held at the church cemetery.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 16th, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Loraine Doris was born on August 3, 1936, to Albert and Ella (Miller) Noetzelman in Miltona Township. She was baptized and confirmed at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Miltona. Loraine attended Country School District #46, near Lake Irene through the eighth grade and later graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Orvin N. Jahnke on September 30, 1954, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Parsonage in West Miltona. Together, they built a loving home and raised two sons, Bruce and Scott. While raising her children and helping Orvin on the farm, Loraine remained actively involved in her community. She was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she shared her faith by teaching Sunday school, singing in the church choir, and participating in the ladies’ fellowship group for many years. Loraine also babysat for the moms’ club at First Baptist Church in Parkers Prairie and was a longtime member of the Busy Bells Homemaker Club. She spent several summers working at the Minnesouri Club on Lake Miltona and, over the years, cleaned at the Parkers Prairie medical clinic and served as an election judge for Parkers Prairie Township. Loraine found joy in baking, cooking, and crafts, and she treasured time spent visiting over coffee with friends and family. She especially enjoyed shopping and taking peaceful drives through the countryside

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orvin in 2001; and sisters, Darlene Zinter and Della Ost.

Loraine is survived by her two sons, Bruce Jahnke of Parkers Prairie and Scott (Sherri) Jahnke of Maple Grove; two grandchildren, Briana (Jared) Sanders and Kelsey (Bob) Bjornstad; six great grandchildren, Charlotte, Maverick, Lincoln, and Marshall Bjornstad, and Mason and Harper Sanders; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Pallbearers are Steven Ost, Greg Jahnke, Brian Husfeldt, Brent Husfeldt, Jared Sanders, and Bob Bjornstad. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
