Linda Suzanne Stevens was born to Jay and Mae (Molden) Baldwin on October 9, 1956, at the Chippewa County Hospital in Montevideo, Minnesota. Linda and siblings, Pamela and Keith, spent their early years living the good life on farms around the Monte area. Pamela and Linda enjoyed attending one room schools until 1965 when the family moved to Owatonna, MN.
In 1971, the family moved to Alexandria, Minnesota and everyone loved the lake life. Linda had a fondness for horses and the family adopted Scotch. When Scotch had Cherokee, Linda saddle trained the new horse. After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1974, Linda worked in a variety of businesses from banking to hospitality. She struck out on her own and moved to Skagway, Alaska to take a job in hospitality.
Linda married and over the years she and husband David owned and operated an RV caravan business, general store and restaurant in Hyder, Alaska. She was the tour guide hostess. She was also a travel agent and guide on the Denali tour train. Linda also enjoyed her time working for Princess Cruise Lines.
Linda later married Alan Hansen. For a short time, they lived in North Pole, Alaska. Then they became full-time RVers moving for Alan’s job from site to site. They eventually bought a home near Centralia, Washington. Linda enjoyed making the house a home and filled it by thrift shopping and yard sales. Her talent for “upcycling” became a business adventure. They rented a storefront in Carnation, Washington. The “Blue Iris” was an eclectic boutique of collectables, antiques, oddities and consignment space.
In 2015 Linda moved back to Minnesota. She rented a house in Miltona and quickly made it home again. She was happy being closer to her parents.
Linda will be remembered for her warmth, generous spirit, caring nature and sense of adventure. She enjoyed flowers, bonfires, traveling, feeding the birds, canning with Mom and listening to country music. Linda loved animals and especially her Labrador dogs: Heidi, Daisy, Gypsy, Chance and Conner. She enjoyed volunteering for Elder Network. Linda loved being an aunt and great aunt.
She is survived by Alan; her parents, Jay and Mae; sister, Pamela (Joel) Kamholz, brother, Keith (Kate) Baldwin; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Going before her were her grandparents and nieces, Ivy and Dulcie.
A special thank you to all the caregivers who lifted Linda up and nurtured her including Moment’s Hospice and friends from the Miltona area. Linda passed away in her home on May 26, 2025. She is at peace now, interned at the family plot at the Big Bend Church Cemetery in Hagen, Minnesota.
